US fashion designers pick McQueen for NYC honor

The fashion world has announced one more tribute to designer Alexander McQueen.
McQueen, who died in an apparent suicide in London last month, will receive the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s special board of directors honor at the industry’s annual celebrity-studded gala this summer. The announcement was made Wednesday.
Swarovski’s Alice in Wonderland-Inspired Jewelry Collection

First Tom Binns launched his limited edition Alice in Wonderland inspired collection of baubles, then Stella McCartney followed suit. Now Swarovski is headed down the rabbit hole.
In celebration of the much anticipated Tim Burton film, the crystal producers are launching a new collection of jewels. The necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings each capture one of the film’s characters with vintage and gothic details. Fantasy plays an integral role in the designs with the Red Queen, Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat finding their way into pendants and charms. The Flower Garden gets a tribute of its own as does the famous tea party scene.
