Quashing rumors that Carine Roitfeld would replace “W Magazine’s” Patrick McCarthy at the end of the year, Condé Nast editorial director Tom Wallace has announced that Lindsay Lohan has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of the oversized fashion glossy.
“We wanted a figurehead that American women could relate to, and Carine wasn’t that woman,” Wallace told Auntie Fashion. “French women typically don’t inspire the average American fashionista. They’re into wine, cigarettes, unshaven armpits and the sort of cheese that can stink up your fridge for weeks. Read more >
Lindsay Lohan fired from Ungaro?

Lindsay Lohan, whose disastrous debut as artistic adviser for Emanuel Ungaro became the laughing stock of the fashion world last fall, has been unceremoniously booted from any further dealings with the French fashion house.
The line’s Fall 2010 collection, which premiered sans Lohan during Paris Fall Fashion Week on Monday, features only the work of chief designer Estrella Archs.
