Gisele Bundchen has reportedly signed up to be the new face of Balenciaga. According to WWD she’ll be the face of their first collection for 2011, and that the campaign has already been photographed by Steven Miesel in New York .

The 30-year-old beauty will replace Stella Tennant, Freja Beha Erichsen and Karen Elson to be the new face of the Spanish luxury fashion house.

Gisele Bundchen is world’s highest paid model

Gisele Bundchen has been named world’s highest paid model for the second consecutive year by Forbes magazine. The 29-year-old Brazilian supermodel beats the likes of Heidi Klum and Kate Moss, with the total earning of USD 25 million last year.

Klum, 36 and mother of four and host of the television show “Project Runway”, came in second with USD 16 million in earnings, followed by style icon Moss, who made USD 9 million, through her modelling campaigns, clothing range for Topshop, and perfume.

Steve Bertoni of Forbes said that the dominance of Bundchen, Klum and Moss is largely due to a risk-averse fashion industry that was not looking for new faces in the unstable economic climate.

“These contracts were written during the doldrums of the recession,” telegraph.co.uk quoted Bertoni as saying.

“So when companies decided on the faces of their campaigns, they wanted to play it safe,” Bertoni added.

Another Brazilian model Adriana Lima, 28, and Dutch model Doutzen Kroes, 25, wrapped up top five with an income of USD 7.5 million and USD 6 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Alessandra Ambrosio ($5.5 million), Natalie Vodianova ($5.5 million), Lancome beauty Daria Werbowy $4.5 million), Orlando Bloom’s lady love Miranda Kerry ($4 million) and finally, Carolyn Murphy ($3.5 million).

The new parents are reportedly in the midst of construction on their new home, which sounds more to us like a palace.

The eight-bedroom, 22,000-square foot monstrosity comes with a $20 million pricetag. It features a covered bridge, six-car garage, and a lagoon-shaped swimming pool.

According to The New York Daily News, the mansion is located in Brentwood, a ritzy area of Los Angeles, and home to many stars like Reese Witherspoon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Antonio Banderes and Melanie Griffith.

Seems a little extravagant for a couple with one child! Plus, it’s not like they’ll even live there full-time! Tom spends most of the year in Boston playing for the Patriots.
