Valentino Ready to Wear show

Fashion critics probably didn’t expect much from the Valentino Fall 2010 presentation in Paris this week, after the label showed a disappointing, frenzied couture collection not too long ago. But designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, who took over creative direction for the label just last year, have accomplished a swift and impressive recovery.

Supermodel Elle MacPherson in Paris

Elle MacPherson headed back to the 80s rock era at Paris Fashion Week by showcasing some tight black leather trousers.
Looking glamorous as ever, the 46-year-old Australian model paired the chic trousers with a grey baggy t-shirt, a black cardigan, over-sized grey scarf and her famous smile.
The model mother was backstage at the Louis Vuitton Ready to Wear show for the Fall/Winter 2011 collection at Cour Carree du Louvre.

“Have you felt any warming this winter?” Lagerfeld, with trademark black sunglasses and white ponytail, told reporters after showing his autumn collection, referring to freezing cold weather outside. “Maybe that’s all nonsense, who knows.”
Lagerfeld had erected a huge iceberg in the middle of the glass-domed Grand Palais to mark his chilly theme, dressing models in fake fur trousers and yeti boots to prepare them for the coming ice age.

Alexander McQueen’s Final Collection Presented In Paris

The last collection designed by Alexander McQueen before his death was shown in a gilded salon at the headquarters of Francois Pinault. Models walked slowly and solemnly in the sixteen looks to haunting operatic music. Tears welled in the eyes of more than a few spectators, as the audience took in the opulent, detailed McQueen creations with inspirations ranging from Byzantine art and Old Masters paintings to the wood carving and sculpture of Grinling Gibbons.
