10 designers turn Runway show into maze of faces

The Friday finale runway show of “Project Runway” had so many designers that even its surprise guest judge had trouble keeping track.
“I remember pieces,” country singer Faith Hill said after the show, admitting that she hadn’t yet learned the names of the contestants that she’ll be critiquing. “If I had my book in front of me, I would be able to remember. But I just remember the pieces so vividly.”
To prevent the audience from leaking the identities of the show’s final three contestants, “Runway’s” remaining 10 designers all offered collections, turning a normally refined runway into a whirlwind of faces, names and genres. Read more >
CFW ties up with Partners in Health

Couture Fashion Week is pleased to announce it will be collaborating this season with Partners in Health in a silent auction and fundraiser to benefit the charity organization’s relief efforts in Haiti.
The event will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria, 301 Park Avenue, New York City. The fashion show at 7:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom featuring ANDRES AQUINO COUTURE, DIDIER PEIRO COUTURE JEWELRY, LEK NASUWAN JEWELRY and JANERATIONS will be followed by the gala Couture Fashion Week Valentine’s Ball in the Jade Room. Guests at Couture Fashion Week may browse through luxury auction offerings and place bids starting at 3:00 p.m. on February 13 as they enjoy the elegant atmosphere, cash bar and delightful displays of fine art, fashions, jewelry and more.
Heart Truth Red Dress Fall 2010

What’s not to love about celebrities getting all dressed up for a good cause that helps women live better lives? That’s what the Red Dress initiative is all about, helping people understand that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women.
So Thursday’s show was a grand party, with celebs such as Heidi Klum, Robin Roberts and Jordin Sparks wearing red dresses and walking down the runway in the Tents at Bryant Park. In contrast to the other shows, these models actually SMILED. And walked down the runway with some energy and buoyancy. And even laughed a little for the cameras.
What the BCBG show at New York Fashion Week 2010 says about fall beauty

Held for the last time in Bryant Park, New York Fashion Week started the show off strong, with BCBG showing a muted, but statement-based collection on the runway. Deep navy, intense gray, and other muted neutrals were centerstage on the BCBG runway. Designer Max Azria outfitted the models with silhouettes the label is known for: flowing fabrics with a subtle hint of geometry in all of the right places.
