Dior presented its cruise collection for 2011 in Shanghai. Despite its name, Dior’s cruise collection displayed a striking lack of practical, laid-back clothes that would actually be fit for cruising. Instead, head designer John Galliano presented a range of cocktail dresses and even haute couture creations, a sure indicator of the brand counting on China to buy its most expensive creations.
The showcase coincided with the reopening of Dior’s boutique in the Plaza 66 shopping mall as well as the inauguration of a retrospective.

Grace Kelly Fashion Exhibition Opens in London

The epitome of understated chic, Grace Kelly was famed for her fashion sense. Now her stunning wardrobe has been brought back to life at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
With 40 of her iconic dresses on display and cabinets of shoes, bags, sunglasses and jewelry, the exhibit opened to rave reviews this weekend in the capital.
Paying tribute to her life as an Oscar-winning actress, highlights include the grey and pink silk chiffon dress embroidered with roses, which she wore in the famous dancing scene with Frank Sinatra in High Society (MGM later gave the dress to her and she wore it several times to various events) as well as outfits from the many Hitchcock films she starred in.

It’s that time of year again – the hottest labels around are picking the faces of their autumn 2010 campaigns. The latest to be signed up? Natalia Vodianova and Christy Turlington.
The duo is apparently set to front next season’s campaign for Louis Vuitton.
