TEXTILE Elizabeth and James denim line by Mary-Kate & Ashley

Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen announced expansion of their partnership with L’Koral Industries with the launch of denim-based offshoot TEXTILE Elizabeth and James. The Spring 2010 collection, set to debut March 2010, adds a casual component to the label as the designers continue to innovate within the contemporary brand known for wearable styles with a strong design aesthetic.
TEXTILE Elizabeth and James collection debuts with three denim styles inspired by the 1970s: the “Joni,” a high waisted, cropped flare, the “Hendrix,” a bell bottom with distressed details and the “Stevie,” a soft, casual button fly jean. The throwback collection pairs well with the contemporary label’s separates, yet has the versatility to stand alone with a simple tee.
Dannii Minogue to join Twiggy as a new face of Marks & Spencer

The Australian-born singer, X Factor judge and sister of Kylie, Dannii Minogue, who is expecting her first child, heads the roll-call of new celebrities who will create the spring 2010 fashion image for Marks & Spencer.
Dannii will be joined by the singer-songwriter V V Brown, renowned or her 21st century spin on vintage; Lisa Snowdon, the co-host of Capital Radio’s breakfast show and ex-Strictly Come Dancing finalist; and the ‘Brazilian Bombshell’, the model, Ana Beatriz Barros, a star of the 2009 Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
Estet Jewelry helps Bergio to tap Russian market

Anna Wintour Approves of Andre Leon Talley’s Reality TV Endeavors

Vogue Editor-at-Large Andre Leon Talley is the newest judge on Tyra Banks’ long-running reality series America’s Next Top Model – and it was a decision years in the making.
Banks had originally approached Talley, a friend since her first days in the modeling industry, about being part of the show before it even debuted. Talley told WWD, “At that point, I said no because it was the beginning. I was thinking I wanted to see where it goes.”
Now, with the show in its 14th cycle, Talley seems proud to be associated with Ty-overs and smizes. Read more >
Tough January for UK’s mid-market retailers

Mid-market retailers saw a small drop in spending during January, with like-for-likes falling by 1.4 per cent compared to last year, according to the BDO High Street Sales Tracker. Sales plunged by double-digit levels during the first 10 days of the months in January, as the freezing weather and the transportation chaos that ensued, took its toll on the High Street. However, as the weather conditions became somewhat more hospitable later in the month, trade improved considerably, with fashion stores in particular ending the month on a high.
Across other categories, the recovery in trade was slower, with demand remaining negative for much of the month. Home-related stores were the biggest losers, due in large part to weak demand for furniture, while luxury and leisure stores also had a difficult month, handicapped by the New Year VAT increase.
