First Look: Manolo for Liberty

The full Manolo Blahnik For Liberty Of London collection – which includes footwear, scarves, candles, rain boots, notebooks and more – is due out on September 10. The collection will be sold in the “World Of Manolo” boutique inside Liberty’s London store and will be available through the end of December.

 Uma Thurman and Donna Karan are teaming to combat women's cancerUma Thurman is the new ambassador of the Key To The Cure initiative, sponsored by Donna Karan, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Saks Fifth Avenue. Donna Karan designed the T-shirt to raise funds that will help eradicate the disease.

Uma Thurman takes the mantle from model Heidi Klum who served as ambassador last year.  “Everyone I know has been affected by breast cancer one way or the other,” says Thurman. “It is vital that we work toward a cure as well as develop more accurate and advance testing.”

Isabella Rossellini to Design for Bulgari

Isabella Rossellini to Design for BulgariBulgari is helping Isabella Rossellini dip into the accessories world by having her design a bag for the Roman jeweler with the support of its in-house design team.

“My connection with Bulgari dates back to when I was a child and I’d accompany my mother [the legendary Ingrid Bergman] to the historic shop in Via Condotti in Rome,” Rossellini explained. “She loved Bulgari jewels.”

Thom Browne launches womenswear

Thom Browne launches womenswearThom Browne, the designer known best for stirring up the idea of what it means to dress like a man with his famously short suits jackets and cropped pants, is branching out into women’s wear.

It’s not his first dive into womenswear though; In 2007 and 2008, Thom designed little capsule collections for Barneys, and has been tailoring his men’s suits to fit the small clientele of women who he welcomed into his New York show.

iPad Case by Gucci

iPad Case by GucciHigh-class fashion company Gucci is coming out with three designs for the iPad. A case made of patterned canvas will cost $230, a neoprene version will be available for $250, and the cream-of-the-crop leather-bound case will sell for $290.

“Each iPad case has a strap closure to limit the pressure on the touch screen and is lined with smooth suede that keeps the screen clean and prevents scratching,” Gucci said in an announcement heralding the product.
