This award gives me the confidence and financial back-up I need to pursue my dream of building my own brand. I couldn’t have imagined a better start to my career as a designer,” said Riis.

The award was announced at Stockholm’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Riis won €50,000, and the chance to have around 15 pieces from her collection sold in selected H&M stores in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and The Netherlands in September.

“This collaboration is really exciting for me.  For the Victoria line I wanted to appeal to a slightly younger audience – super chic but with a sense of humour and an edge and that’s exactly what Quentin brought to the creative process.  I really wanted to capture the essence of the playful feminine character at the heart of the collection and Quentin has realised that for me in her unique, innovative style,” says Victoria Beckham.
