Lady Gaga Wins Fashion Icon Award 2011

Lady Gaga is among the nominees for the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards, which recognize the top talent in the fashion industry.

This award, fittingly, is given to the ‘Born this Way’ singer because she is what the CFDA consider a “fashion revolutionary imparting style today.”

CFDA nominations include:

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler. Jacobs will be honored with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.

Menswear Designer of the Year: Michael Bastian, Simon Spurr and Patrick Ervell.

Accessory Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang, Reed Krakoff and Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler.

Swarovski Award for Womenswear: The Row’s Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Joseph Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung

Swarovski Award for Menswear: Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim and Robert Geller.

Swarovski Award for Accessory Design: Eddie Borgo, Pamela Love, Alejandro Ingelmo and Jason Wu.

Winners will be announced at the CFDA Gala on June 6th in New York City.
