Alexander McQueen Cruise 2011 Collection by Sarah Burton

New Creative Director Sarah Burton has unveiled her first collection for Alexander McQueen Womenswear by showcasing the label’s Resort 2011 collection.
The collection was inspired by Hans Bellmer’s dolls and samurai warriors, Burton said she wanted to “juxtapose the pale and the delicate with the bold and armorial. It’s about a highly structured torso that gives way to a more fluid silhouette or drop waists that lead to a finned trouser or skirt.”
Tyra Banks to Launch Fashion and Beauty Website

Well-known modeling icon Tyra Banks has struck a partnership with Demand Media to create a new digital brand focused on fashion and beauty. The site will be based on the America’s Next Top Model creator’s “beauty inside and out” philosophy, and integrate social media tools and other interactive features.
John Galliano awarded French Legion of Honour

At a ceremony at the historic Elysée Palace in Paris, French president Nicolas Sarkozy awarded John Galliano the prestigious Legion of Honor award, with a ranking of Chevalier (Knight), according to WWD. The ceremony took place on Wednesday 23rd June.
