Bidding on fashion internships for charity was hilarious when Anna Wintour put up a one-week Vogue internship for auction (it’s currently at $13,000) mostly because, well, it’s Anna Wintour, the most powerful person in the fashion industry and she can damn well do whatever she pleases.
Models Gaining Edge Over Stars in Ad Campaigns

Looking to be a bright future for catwalk pros, reports tell that models are favored over celebrities in ad campaigns – with the trend likely to push forth this fall.
Explaining the reason for declined appeal when it comes to stars fronting lines, Ogilvy & Mather Paris art director Antoaneta Metchanova tells WWD, “Celebrities have been used so much without reason. Today it’s no longer relevant to use a celebrity just to endorse a product.”
Fashion designer picks South Park as inspiration

French fashion designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac (also known as JC/DC) will use “South Park” characters as the music icons of his new high-end collection, Holly Boys and Naughty Girls.
The collaboration between Jean Charles de Castelbajac and Nickelodeon Consumer Products International is for a summer/autumn 2010 men’s and women’s wear capsule collection that will include T-shirts, tops, sweatshirts and leggings. It will take “South Park’s” satirical themes to retailers around the world through high-end outlets in markets such as France, Italy, Germany, Russia, the U.K. and U.S. It will also be available at de Castelbajac’s dedicated boutiques in London, Paris and Ukraine with items priced beginning at €45 ($60).
McQueen Took Drug Cocktail Before Suicide

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen hanged himself after taking a cocktail of cocaine, sleeping pills and tranquillisers, an inquest has heard.
The 40-year-old’s body was found in a wardrobe at his flat in Mayfair, central London, on February 11, the day before his mother Joyce’s funeral.
The inquest into his death was told that McQueen had a history of depression, anxiety and insomnia and had researched suicide on the internet prior to taking his life.
