Dree Hemingway Named Face of Ferragamo Fragrance
Apr 23rd
Model Dree Hemingway is to front the latest advertising campaign from Salvatore Ferragamo for its new perfume Attimo.
Joining Ferragamo’s roster of big name models, which includes Claudia Schiffer (currently starring in the label’s clothing ads for spring/summer 2010), relative newcomer Hemingway will be shot by photographer Craig McDean for the new Attimo women’s fragrance. While Hemingway’s great-grandfather, novelist Ernest Hemingway, may have been known for his understated style of writing, the career of the self-confessed “queen of layering” looks to be a lot less unassuming for the 23-year-old.

As you might expect this feather-light chiffon piece is uber-luxury…. It features an abstract shell motif drawing inspiration from the sea. Expect to see it gracing the bikini-clad forms of various ladies poolside in Cannes or tripping down the Croisette paired with trousers for evening.
New York Men
Apr 23rd
Designers and industry bigwigs are contemplating the possibility of holding a Men’s Fashion Week in New York, WWD reports. Menswear is regularly shown in the Big Apple during the fashion weeks held in September and February, and mixed in with the numerous womenswear shows. But menswear designers say that debuting their collections in September–three months after Milan and Paris hold their Men’s Fashion Weeks–is bad for business.
“I’m very proud to be an American designer,” Thom Browne explained. “But we do have to sell in a true selling season of men’s in order to get production started. Getting sales done in June and early July is really important from a production standpoint….It means getting the next collection done two months earlier, which isn’t easy. And even sooner, actually, because we have to get everything and everyone there.”
