Miranda world’s 10th most desirable woman
MODEL Miranda Kerr is among five Australian beauties to make an annual list of the world’s most desirable women. Kerr has finished 10th on the annual Askmen.com 99 Most Desirable Women list.
It was topped by Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui, from the TV hit Entourage. The poll, which this year attracted more than six million votes, asks men to rate women based on their qualities as an ideal wife or girlfriend. Kerr, a Victoria’s Secret model and the face of David Jones, had a huge jump to number 10 from the 46th spot last year. She said she was delighted with the result.
“It is such a big compliment to be given,” Kerr said. Last year’s highest-placed Aussie, actor Isla Fisher, failed to make this year’s list after sitting in the 31st spot in 2009. Kerr’s Victoria’s Secret colleague from the US, model Marisa Miller, came in second, followed by British actor Kate Beckinsale, and Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio, who also models for Victoria’s Secret.
Australia was the third most represented country, behind the US and the UK, with lingerie model Emily Scott at 44, Megan Gale at 48, Myer rival Jennifer Hawkins at 64 and singer Sophie Monk in 71st spot. AskMen.com’s Australian editor Emma-Kate Dobbin said it was great to see so many Australians in the poll.
“It’s clear that men around the world love Aussie women,” she said. Poll topper Chriqui said she was thrilled. “It absolutely stunned me,” she said. “I laughed because I thought that is so crazy! It’s such a massive compliment. “Hearing what that vote is made of is the biggest compliment of all – because it’s not just about being considered ‘hot’ but also about being a well-rounded woman. That’s really empowering.
“That is a massive compliment – people recognise that I care about other things.” The average age of those on the list was 29.
